Members of Brazil Rotary Club’s Foundation Committee and representatives of CRADLES of Clay County gathered for the presentation of a $7,330.00 grant awarded to CRADLES. Funds for this were made possible by a Rotary International District 6580 Matching Grant, whereby the Brazil Rotary Club's financial commitment to the project was matched 1-to-1 by District funds. Installation of two special Hatch computer systems with content and accessories tailored to young children and training on how to use them recently took place at each site, along with help by Brazil Rotarians. Internet was also installed to help run the programs. This benefits small children who need to learn basic computer skills at an early age. CRADLES stands for “Cultivating Responsible Adults by Developing Leadership, Education, and Self-Sufficiency” and focuses on helping young parents finish high school, prepare for high school equivalency, improve their basic and parenting skills, and go on to further their education, while providing quality age-appropriate childcare.
